Yellowstone National Park Camping in Yellowstone
Yellowstone National Park offers 12 campgrounds with over 2,000 established campsites. All campsites must be reserved in advance, with the exception of Mammoth Campground which offers first-come, first-served sites from October 15 – April 1. Most campsites are reserved far in advance, so making reservations as early as possible is recommended.

Bridge Bay Campground
Bridge Bay Campground—elevation 7,800 feet (2277 m)—is located near Yellowstone Lake, one of North America's largest high-elevation, fresh-water lakes. Campsites at Bridge Bay are situated on open slopes of the lake and the Absaroka Range rising above the lake's eastern shore. Bridge Bay is a wonderful location for Teton Adventures RV. Canyon Campground
Canyon Campground—elevation 7,900 feet (2408 m)—is a lodgepole pine forest at Canyon Village, south of the Washburn Range and near the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the Yellowstone River. Canyon Village amenities include a camp store, dining room, filling station, laundry, shower facilities, and ranger station. Nearby hiking includes Cascade Lake, Mount Washburn, and the Canyon Rim trails. Fishing Bridge RV Park
Fishing Bridge RV Park—elevation 7,800 feet (2277 m)—is located near the Yellowstone River where it exits Yellowstone Lake on its way toward the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Fishing Bridge is the only campground that offers electrical hook-ups in Yellowstone; hard-sided units are required in the area, no tents or tent campers are allowed. Grant Village Campground
Grant Village Campground—elevation 7,800 feet (2377 m)—is located within the Grant Village complex, just off the West Thumb and on the south end of Yellowstone Lake. It is one of the larger campgrounds in the park. Group and wheelchair-accessible sites are available. Nearby are stores, a restaurant, a gas station, a visitor center, and a boat ramp. Madison Campground
Madison Campground—elevation 6,833 feet (2273 m)—sits about 14 miles east of the town of West Yellowstone and 16 miles north of Old Faithful. Nearby, the Gibbon and Firehole Rivers meet within the Madison River Valley, with open meadows teeming with wildflowers and bison. In September and October, you can often hear bugling elk. Indian Creek Campground
Located about eight miles south of Mammoth Hot Springs on the road to Norris. Indian Creek Campground—elevation 7,300 feet (2225 m)—sits near the base of the Gallatin Mountains and offers breathtaking views of Electric Peak. The area offers easy access to fishing and hiking. Mammoth Campground
The only campground in the park open year-round. Mammoth Campground—elevation 6,200 feet (1890 m)—is located five miles south of the park's North Entrance. Scattered juniper and Douglas fir trees provide shade during hot summer months. The campground is close to fishing, hiking, and the Mammoth Hot Springs. Norris Campground
CLOSED IN 2024. This campground—elevation 7,500 feet (2,296 m)—is located near a large open meadow, providing wildlife viewing opportunity. Bison frequently walk through the campground. Most sites are shaded by lodgepole pine. The Museum of the National Park Ranger is a quick walk from the campground, as are Norris Geyser Basin and Norris Junction. The campground is also located near Steamboat Geyser, the tallest in Yellowstone. This is a reservable campground run by the National Park Service. Pebble Creek Campground
Pebble Creek Campground—elevation 6,900 feet (2102 m)—lies against the dramatic backdrop of the Absaroka Mountains near the park's Northeast Entrance and offers a more remote camping experience. Day hiking opportunities are nearby. A trail from Pebble Creek offers prime fishing opportunities and there are outstanding wildlife viewing opportunities throughout Lamar Valley. This is a reservable campground run by the National Park Service.
Tower Fall Campground
Tower Fall Campground CLOSED IN 2024. Tower Fall Campground—elevation 6,600 feet (2012 m)—is located on the north side of the steep, winding road to Sundown Point. The Lamar Valley, known for its wildlife viewing opportunities, is located nearby, as are several hiking trails. Roosevelt Lodge, a short drive from the campground, offers dining and horseback riding. This is a reservable campground run by the National Park Service.
Lewis Lake Campground
Lewis Lake Campground—elevation 7,800 ft (2277 m)—is about eight miles from the South Entrance and a short walk from the southeast shore of scenic Lewis Lake. A boat ramp is nearby. The area is popular for fishing and boating. Slough Creek
Campground near some of the best wildlife-watching opportunities in the park. Located at the end of a two-mile dirt road, this campground is best suited for 4×4s and small RVs. The area is popular for hiking and fishing opportunities in the Slough Creek drainage. The campground's location also offers a quiet, unimpeded view of the area and the possibility of hearing wolves howl—elevation 6,239 ft (1985 m). 2045 N Woodruff Ave, Idaho Falls, Idaho Falls.
